Why I am not at the Merc this evening
For the first time in 10+ years of semi-regular attendance, something new happened to me at the Mercury at Machinewerks. I failed the dress code check. Apparently a red silk shirt, red silk tie, and a jacket covered with crazy zippers from a local boutique designer is now a "dress suit", and thus I am not at the Strict Machine Love Hurts event.

Wow, that's um.. special.

I don't think I own anything that could get me in the door then because all my stuff I wear with corsets would get classed as an "evening dress" and too square to be let in.

Apparently the monthy Strict Machine event has it's own special dress code.

Acceptable attire includes latex, vinyl, pvc, leather, latex body paint, full uniform, fantasy or period costume, steampunk, armor, cross-dressed fetish wear, rubber, bondage, and fancy lingerie.

No street or casual wear allowed. Jeans, cargo pants, slacks, briefs or boxers, t-shirts, suits (including birthday suits!) are not permitted unless part of an acceptable ensemble costume - e.g. jeans under leather chaps are ok, however kilts are not permitted.

Full Nudity is not allowed. Electrical tape or pasties may be used to cover nipples.
