I'm not sure how many versions there are, probably hundreds. For me the most bitter is Bono's cover on Tower of Song. It's icy electronica is dripping with disdain.

I can't find that on either iTunes or Amazon MP3. Link?

I don't have a link, I bought the CD back in the 90s when ti came out. I have it ripped to my computer at home, I can email it to you when I get home.

Funny enough, they played Cohen's orginal on satellite radio this morning and nothing tops his vocals.

Its in a surge of popularity because his version is on the Watchmen soundtrack.

I have 19, but I'm sure that there are more.

Interestingly enough, I don't find that song bitter at all.

Personally, I'm getting weary of Alanis Morrisette doing multiple covers of her own song "You Ought to Know."
