This weekend, the whirlwind edition

Friday evening, I headed over to Bellevue, and had dinner with David Recordon, Chris Messina, Brian Dorsey, and John Conbere. Thankfully, the snowfall had stopped by then. We all then came back to Seattle to play boardgames at the AlohaHaus. I got to teach ChrisM and DavidR how to play Blockus Trigon. ChrisM got very good at it very fast, scoring perfectly on his 2nd and 3rd games. We also taught him Set.

Saturday, I picked up amythis and we went to Sakura-con. I would say that the median age of attendee there was 18, which was an odd experience. Dinner was at Cyberdogs, which is normally really good, but the hippychick running the counter kept forgetting everyone's order, and misprogramming the microwave.

Sunday we went to Seattle VegFest, and ate a very odd vegetarian meal, half a bite at a time. Most of it was passable, some of it was decent, and some of it was utterly vile. (Avoid the hemp "milk".) Vegan cheese has worked its way up to "ok to cook with, but dont eat it cold", instead of just being utterly vile.

That evening, we went to see "Horton Hears A Who". I posted my review earlier, but forgot to mention the Mayor's one son. A goth Who. Very odd, very cute.
