How girls sort guys
I'm listening in on a very normal but very alien world. The two baristas here are, between customer walk-ins, passing a laptop computer back and forth sorting out responses to their personal ads. The four variables if import seem to be apparent wealth, height, age (as in closest to them), and then "cuteness". Interestingly, horrible spelling or grammer get immediately tossed. Sweetly romantic "lines" get read out loud, get an "awwww", and then laughed at.

Current Location: Chocolati Cafe, Greenwood, Seattle WA

Is this surprising?

I'm not surprised age and cuteness rank that high -- I am surprised at height. (I'm not surprised that wealth gets quite a bit of weight, but I am surprised they have that much information at this stage of things.)

Height always mattered to me, but I'm tall so...

I'm exactly average, and my first love was shorter than me, so I may be unusually unjudgemental about that. ;)

Hehe, maybe so! :-) If they weren't tall, they were strictly in the Friend Zone for me, but they'd get immediately tossed if they had poor grammar or couldn't spell, even if they were a good height. ;-)

I'm with them on the horrible spelling & grammer.
In my experience, "sweetly romantic" in a first email can come off as creepy/too intimate.
I've never discussed "wealth" in first emails or date, though.

They seemed to be using any available information, from job, car, clothes, and "wealth attitude" to make estimates of wealth.

That's 2 strikes for me, in part because such also usually comes with a lack of interesting content.
