The Washington Quarter Dollar Coin Reverse will be decided soon.

I think all 3 of the candidates are eye-wateringly ugly.

Ew.

I am reminded of Tom Lehrerh's comment about folk songs...one reason they are so bad is because they are written by the POEPLE.

With that said, I like #3 the best.

And if I could type it would say PEOPLE.

I like #2. I really dislike both the others. The native-format one is just too trendy, and bare to boot, and the other looks like a 'collectors' shot glass from a few decades back.

I'd go with #2 as well. I really dislike #3 the most. Not that I don't respect native culture, but I just find the design unappealing and the overall look way too bare.

Conversely I find #1 too cluttered.

What he said...

I think the second one is the best of the bunch, but the first one is a little more representative of the state as a whole. The third one's not going to make any sense to somebody in upstate New York, south Georgia, or the middle of Kansas.

At least they didn't succumb to the temptation of stamping it with a big picture of the Space Needle. There's a perception outside the state that Seattle is all there is in Washington.

That, and I agree with earlier comments that it just looks very bare, AND if they're going for "representation of Native themes" it's about on the level of a picture of the Space Needle. They'd do better to represent the Indians of the whole state rather than Salish tribes only.

Yurk. I like the mention of native culture so I'd vote #3, but yeah I don't see a clear winner either. Nothing like the whimsy of this bad boy.

Does that cow have an ear tag, or is she supposed to be the Laughing Cow who's drawn with earrings?

That just looks creepy.

I think it's an ear tag, as Laughing Cow is a trademarked.

We are the Evergreen State, no? Why not a TREE for crying out loud?

I vote for a whole new design. George Washington's head on one side, Bill Gates' on the other.

I think the middle one is the least offensive.

Actually, I'd prefer that one with the fish replaced by the apples from the first one.

The first one is ugly. The second one is much more artistically balanced. I like the idea of the third one, but it is not very graceful. I like that it's very different from the other quarter designs, and honors some cultural history, not just topography and exports.
