I'm at the Online in CapHill. I think I've found a new favorite place to work-away-from-the-office. Non-annoying music. Good drinks. Powerstrips on the walls. Nice comfy chairs. And they're open late! Till 1am. (Wish it was all night...)

I saw The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe today, with a movie party organized by ivolucien. I really liked it. The translation to screenplay was amazing. I am struggling to think of anything that they left out. And the little bits they added (like London during the blitz) added well to setting up the story.

It's kind of nice to see that the folks at the Merc are blatantly violating Seattle's newly minted strict smoking ban. After all, it's the Merc. But still, OTOH, since I am still unwilling to have to air out my clothes, I'm not going clubbing there.

I satisfied my craving for chocolate cake at Dilettantes. Mmmmm.

Their argument is that since the staff is all volunteers and the establishment is a private club, it's not technically either a business, place of employment or public place. We'll see if that holds up in court.

I thought Narnia was extremely well done, myself. Good casting, astonishing use of CGI, meshed seamlessly with what they did with costuming. Neither more nor less Christian than the book, and contained all its magic in living, moving color. I wish they'd kept the fauns' tails long and graceful as in the original illustrations (but they would have been a lot more work that way), but I loved Tumnus regardless.
