As I was leaving my apt this morning to go to work, I got tracted out by a JW. First time it's happened to me, strangely.

My quick impression, they're not very good at it. I could just hear an MTC trainer stepping in with a "No, no, no!" and then breaking down and critiquing his approach (weak) and his follow-thru (non-existant).

Well, did you?

No. I was in a hurry, and I'm not exactly interested in teaching random strangers effective other-mind-hacking pursuasion techniques.

I'm sorry, but what the heck is "...tracted out by a JW"?

And what is an MTC trainer?

A "JW" is a member of the Jehovah's Witness religion.

The activity of "tracting" is going door-to-door handing out pamphlets.

The "MTC" is the "Missionary Training Center", a which is where Mormon missionaries go to learn their craft, before being sent out to do it.

Ahhhh, I see. Did you go to an MTC ever?

You know, I wasn't raised to be religious at all and I think that, by lacking in religious training of any variety, I missed out on some sort of mass cultural experience.
