Use Google Talk.
You probably all have a Google Mail account, that means you all now have a Jabber account on Google's servers. There is no reason anymore to use AIM, ICQ, MSN, or Skype. And unless you are using the video chat service, stop using Yahoo.

Go to talk.google.com to get set up. If you already have Gaim or Trillian or iChat, you don't even need to install new software, since Google, being Not Evil, is using the open protocol Jabber.

I am, on Google Talk, mark.atwood@gmail.com and/or fallenpegasus@gmail.com

For leaving skype I first have to see if the SIP thing will survive NATting routers as well as skype.

Anyway, I can login with gaim, but not with their windows client... And the feedback link goes to map and then fails. Beta, right-o :-).

Google vs Microsoft

I find it amazing how entrenched Google is, and yet they haven't had the backlash of dominance like Microsoft. A combination of better marketing and superior programs is my guess.

Kill all humans? (Y/N)

Do you ever worry that Google, the company, is actually run by a sentient evil-super computer bent on destroying humanity?

Benefits of Many

I use gmail and 2 other services(hotmail and yahoo). Mostly to sort my mail. Hotmail is for junk mail and yahoo for occasional friends, who write on occasion. Gmail for consistant contacts. I also have a work server for, well work.

Me being a smarty? or different identity?

This once again shows google's "don't be evil policy." Rather than introducing their own "secret" protocol like others (aol, yahoo, microsoft). They adopt an open standard that any one can implement. This will allow for others to compete at all levels and also for the end user to have greater control. Where as competing im services frequently and intentially break third party clients (such as trillian) thus undermining user choice.

Alright so it was the work computer guy that wrote this.---I can't lie. :/

"Probably" but not "plausibly." I've never used any of those and have never been tempted to.
