Fish Friday
Today's fish was halibut chowder in bread bowls. elfs modified the receipe a bit by frying bacon instead of using butter, and adding half again as much veggies. But chowders, like most stews, are more of "make to taste" instead of strict receipes. It was yummy.

The red liquid anti-oxidant of the week was Gato Negro Shiraz. It was insipid and weak on it's own, but combined with food decently.

The movie was the MST3K 8.13 Jack Frost, continuing in our theme of Russian films that were popular with the home team, and just come out stupidly ridiculous when put thru cultural translation. (But then, I wonder how the classic USian holiday specials translate...)

*I* saw Jack Frost once at your folks' place! Man, that was a weird one. I seem to vaguely remember a house spinning around madly and a lot of ugly looking characters.

That would be the one.

The spinning house was Baba Yaga's house, standing on chicken legs.

The brilliant thing about Gato Negro is that it goes pretty well with food and you can find it for $35/case in the state stores. Try the cab-merlot blend.
