Today's MST3K was Robot Holocaust, a post-holocaust SF stinker that was so badly scripted, directed, and acted, it made Space Mutiny look good.

The most interesting part was that it was from the First Season.

Is there a particular reason that makes it interesting? (genuinely curious -- don't know all the ins and outs of MST3K)

There is no TV's Frank, but instead Doctor Forester has a coworker Doctor Eirhardt. Joel explains the setup each time.

That one had one of the awesomeist monsters ever -- a guy in a gorrila suit wearing a spaceman's helmet! Also, there were bubbles. A great many bubbles.

I remember that one, but this one wasn't it.

Ah, oops. That was the aptly named Robot Monster. Robot Holocaust was the one with the guy who got turned into an avacado creature towards the end, wasn't it?

Also, there were evil sock puppets.

That would be the one, yes.
