Piano lesson today. It's really nice to get there at five thirty and have the sun up, and get done at six thirty and still have the sun up.

A-minor scale, E-minor scale, and B-minor scale. Every time I think I have the fingering down, and start superfocusing on clarity, my fingertips trip. Crud. Well, it can only get better.

Still working on the Bartók and the Mozart. The first is a brutal exercise of counting, phrasing, and accents. The second is a tough exercise is long intervals, that have to be hit fast, no looking at my hands.

As a former musician, I have some advice.

Don't focus...just play. Feel the music. Let it wash over you.

That's when you'll get better.
