Review. Steamboy ★★½

A good start, but derailed by some fundamentally stupid concepts in plotting, characters that abruptly change motivation without reason or warning, an awkward, unsatifying, and poorly resolved attempt at "meaning", jarring jerky hand drawn animation scattered throughout a otherwise workmanlike job (noticable skips and pops in motion of turns and walk cycles), and an ending that just kept dragging on and on and ON AND ON. Bigger and bigger and bigger constant explosions. This is the climatic moment, no, THIS is, no THIS is.

Too many climaxes piling on top of each other, very quickly, they all lose meaning, and the audience gets both numb and disinterested.

A disappointment.
