Stuff and Nonsense

Things Done
  • Figured out what to get my brother pheonix_jade for a holiday present, ordered it, and had it shipped to my parent's home in Utah. I think for 2005, we should draw names the day after Christmas, not the day after Thanksgiving.
  • Purchased tickets to SMC, to SWC, and to Cirque du Noc.
  • Washed the countertops, the dishes, the sheets, and the towels. (Well, for the last 3, a machine did the washing, I just had to load, unload, and put away).
  • Paid the rent.
  • Returned phone calls.
  • Got the printer and the print server cabled up.
  • And then printed the next year's worth of payment envelopes for rent and for piano lessons.

To Do
  • Take the old computer, monitor, and other assorted unused pieces of computer electronics to RePC.
  • Send the ozone air cleaner in for warranty repair.
  • Find and borrow a book-on-CD of The Baroque Cycle, Vol 1, Quicksilver. I wonder if one of the local public libraries has it.

The first batch from NetFlix showed up today (Thursday). Not bad, as they were posted yesterday (Wednesday), and were expected tomorrow (Friday). Pitch Black, Lost in Translation, and The Mummy. If anyone wants to help me watch one or two of them tomorrow evening, let me know.

  • Doing what needs to be done

On May 1st, one of my co-residents found one of the feral rabbits that live in the area cuddled up against a corner of the house. It was seriously…

  • The CTO of Visa, after listening to me present

Some years ago, I was asked to travel to the corporate meeting center to present at a presentation-fest to the CxO staff of Visa. Yes, the one with…
