First geocache attempt
I always enjoyed the premise of geocaching, and did a few "look and see" stuff with the website last week. This afternoon, I finally signed up, and looked up the closest simple cache to my home. I stopped at the little city park it's in, on my way home, and hiked down the trail until my GPS said I was standing right on top of it.

Unfortunately, a circle 23ft in diameter is still pretty large to search for something hidden down in the brush in the bog of the waterline, in the dimmness of twilight. So I didn't find it. I will go back, when sunlight is on my side.

That's funny...

My friend in Las Vegas, she and her husband do that all the time. They say it makes it a lot more fun for their little girl who otherwise would be a lot more whiney about going for a very long walk without being able to get anything out of it It looks like a ton of fun.

I once described geocaching as "GPS orienteering."

People laughed at me.

Naughty people.

Welcome to geocaching! I have done some of my best hunting in the dark after I put my daughter to bed (when else do I have time?) , but sunlight is a big advantage.

Mmmm...brush in the bog....good times!
