Flight musings

Sadly, no internets on the flight back. However, I did get a seat upgrade. I fly over half a million miles on UAL in less than a year, and they do nothing for me. My second flight on VX, and I get a better seat.

In the neighboring seat was Greg Linden, who I last met at when we rideshared to FooCamp`07. Small world. He has moved from a startup into Microsoft Research.

Yesterday, when I first walked into the hotel at 1am, the night auditor greeted me by name. Still haven't figured out how he did that. At the hotel in Boston, the desk clerk greeted me by name before I started checking out, but that was less surprising, since he was the one who had checked me in, and probably just has a good memory.

The holiday seattle geek party scene is getting underway. My calendar tells me that this evening there are parties at the Looking Glass and at Saga's Loft. Plus the Bizarre Bazaar, if I want to take that in. Plus I want to hit a crafting/paper store, and get the makings for cards.

My room is continuing. Thursday they had just finished the second pass of sanding the floor. The seal goes down early next week, and then the trim. And then I start moving back in.
