New Years Eve celebrations

This was one of the best NYE parties I've ever been to.

I picked up tonyawinter early in the evening, and then we went up to CapHill to pick up a friend of hers, and then over to krow's house to hook up with him and his housemates. Then back over to Eastside for some very good chinese at the Factoria Mall complex. And then 30 miles inland to North Bend.

The party there was amazing. I kept meeting people I almost knew, and played a lot of games of "where have we met? The Merc? The `Spot? The Haunted? NorWesCon? The Metaphorist?" I learned to play "party fruit", and met several really great and sexy people, who I am kicking myself for not having personal cards to give to. I dozed off on a huge pillow, and then at 4am, headed back west to Seattle.

New Years Day party

Yesterday afternoon I went to spend some socialization time at elfs's place. They were still recovering from their own late night out for NYE, so the house was pretty quiet, so conversational geekery, and quiet play with Kouryou-chan were in order.

We had our fish friday, even tho it was Saturday. It was halibut, prepared the way I watched my Dad cook his when I was down in Utah for xmas. It turned out very well.

Then preparations were made to go to the Metaphorest "dress up for the new year" party. I was already somewhat dressed up, in one of my nice matte black rayon buttonups, and I could pretend that having my hair standing straight up was intentional. Elf looked very snappy in a suit jacket and leather tie, Kouryou adorable in her pink princess gown, and Omaha stunning in a gorgous bright red party dress.

The party was great. It got very crowded, and again all the people were pretty, good-way geeky, and fun.

The TBK trio arrived, with their new puppy in tow. Yay!

Cloven fruit was passed, music was danced to, backs were rubbed, food was eaten, and good times were had.

And again, I left for home at about 4am.

(no subject)

I went thru a big chunk of the day thinking it was Monday, not Sunday.

It's so easy to lose track of the weekcycle when not going into an office job for almost two weeks.

I just ordered another T23, this time from IBM's own refurb store. The two old carcasses, I will sell them for parts. The LCDs and keyboards and ultrabay devices are still in working condition.
