“Not nearly as many updates as the trip down. We're about fifteen miles south of Yakima, which places us still another two hours from Seattle but we have survived so far. It looks like it snowed here yesterday but the roads are still pretty good. Anyway, we're not dead yet.”

“Well, we survived. I've arrived. Yes. It started getting patchy fog in central western Washington-- that was unpleasant, and Snoqualmie pass was dark and slick and wet and extremely unpleasant and you could tell the exact instance you exited the pass of the Seattle microclime because all of a sudden it stopped raining and everything started to be nice again, well, nice relative, the lid was still down and it was everything, but it was Seattle and we were home! And so anyway I just helped Toby unload all of her stuff and I'm about to go to my place and unpack and then either fall asleep or see if I could make my laptop work.”

Damn, this thing is huge. 176 pages, and only the non-duplex printer was working.

I've also gone to IBM.com to find some local authorized repair places, and will be calling them tomorrow. Both of amsu's bodies just might be under some warranty coverage.
