“I'm on I-90 east bound, 651 miles to go according to the GPS. I've seen the very first snow of the season for me. Fortunately not where I'm driving through. 234 miles to Spokane, acording to the sign that just went by. Um, the snow is about a 1000ft above ?my level. It looks like all the trees above a certain very crisp line have been flocked out of a spray can. It's pretty cool.”

“Snoqualmi pass. I'm surrounded by snow. I just passed by the Summit Lodge. I think I remember stopping there while first drove this way to move to Seattle back in 1999. There's snow all around, but the sun is pouring from the sky, "Ah it burns, it burns!" Um the road is mostly dry, had to cut speed a little bit, but the road will straighten out soon according to the map.”

“Another state border! This time, I'm now in Idaho. Wow, it's weird to think of Boise as "the big city" but after these expanse of almost nothingness I've driven through, as I come... as I heave over the horizon and see it spread out in front of me it is the big city, probably because the sun is down and the sky is getting dark and so I can see all of the lights of the city.

Anyway, still another five or so hours to go.”
