(no subject)

I have friends who are close enough and honest enough that when I ask them "How have you been doing?", instead of the rote "Fine, thanks", they will tell me how they've actually been doing, including bad things.

I've never really known what to say. When advice or assistance is not what is needed.

Until now. (The things you can learn on TV...)

From Duck Dodgers: The Queen Is Wild.

Martian Commander: "Greetings, you Highness! I hope your hunting trip went well?"

The Martian Queen: "My ship has been disabled. And Duck Dodgers has gotten away."

Martian Commander: "I'm so very sorry to hear that."

Friday Five of a Year Ago (

1. Did you vote in your last elections? Yes

2. Do you know who your elected representatives are? Yes

3. Have you ever contacted an elected representative? If so, what was it about? HillaryCare (I opposed), DMCA (I opposed), PATRIOT (I opposed), DOMA (I opposed), low power FM broadcast licencing (I supported), gun control (I always oppose), FDA restrictions on hemp products (I opposed), and a bunch of others. I've got a folder full of letters.

4. Have you ever participated in a demonstration? No. Unless marching in Pride a couple of times (before I got too politically disgusted with them) counts.

5. Have you ever volunteered in an election? What was the result? No.
