The Armed Republic of Administrality
"The servant rules, so that the ruled need not serve."
UN Category: Libertarian Police State
Civil Rights: Superb
Economy: Very Strong
Political Freedoms: Few

The Armed Republic of Administrality is a huge, socially progressive nation, notable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 283 million are proud of their wide-ranging civil freedoms, and those who aren't tend to be dragged off the streets by men in dark suits and hustled into cars with tinted windows.

That's typical...

O_O

That's... an interesting oxymoronic sociopolitical design.

Re: That's typical...

Why? It makes perfect sense to me.

Remember what I said on rassfw what I would be like if I was GodEmperor? Few rules, but those few I would have NO sense of humor about?

Democracy is not an end. It's a *means*.

One of the really dumb things about dictatorships is that they have tended to be dour, uncultured, and crushing. I'm doing it Differently.

Hmmm...

I really must look into this site. How does it manage to determine what your country is like, or do you just type in anything you want, even if it would seem to make little sense?

(your country reminds me of the .sig quote -- can't remember who used to use it a lot -- which went something like "We must go forth and crush all worldviews that don't acknowledge tolerance and free speech.")

Re: Hmmm...

You start by filling out a questionaire about how you think things should be. This gets a handle on your political leanings, and so builds a (small) country to match it.

Then every day you are presented with 1 to 3 "issues", with assorted options to choose between. As you select your way thru the issues, it changes your country.

And the quote is from your fellow SF author, David Brin.

I see now!

I've made two countries. One good, one evil. Thovia and Virigar.

Re: I see now!

Cool.

I'll be watching, tho at looks like, at the moment, neither one is doing all that well.

I forgot to warn you, when you make an issues determination, it gets implemented to the extreme. Your underlings and citizens never do anything to just a "reasonable" level.
