One the walk up, I got my car dealership on the phone, first to collect some recommendations for collision/body shops for the unlikely possibility that GEICO doesn't total my car. And then got my salesman on the line, to start the gears turning to get an identical Forester onto his lot, as a potential drive-away replacement.
I rented a cheap little Escort from Enterprise. The clerk at the counter wanted badly to sell me their Damage Waiver thing, even tho GEICO also provides it, and even tho Citi *also* provides it, *and* despite the fact that the one time I did get in an accident in a rental, where I did pay for their damage waiver, they still tried to bill me for it.
That evening, I went south to visit
Omaha was as disappointed as I for missing out on tubbing Thursday night, so we elected to go do it that night. I wished the water was a bit warmer, but it felt so wonderfully good in my back and neck and legs. I wished I could have stayed in longer than the hour, but the time was up, and the fingers and toes were starting to wrinkle. After tubbing, we went over to Dilettantes, and superchocolatated ourselves.
When I got home this morning/afternoon, there was a package waiting for me, a birthday present, which you can see in my previous post.
