It's almost one thirty in the morning, and I'm wide awake. I've much messed up my sleep schedule in the last few days.

And my nose and throat are starting to tickle. Several weeks of being paranoid about getting nailed by the cold-of-the-week, and I spend two days messing up my sleep and getting physically close to people, and I come down with something.

Time to start hitting the vitamin C, zinc chelate, and echinacea hard.

When big pharma actually works out a targetted anti-viral "kill this cold in it's tracks" drug, people will line up to pay twenty bucks a dose for it. (At least, until the Canadian Provincial "Insurance" orgs threaten to steal it at gunpoint say "sell it at 'cost' or we will break your patent".

Anyway, echinacea tea will be purchased at QFC on the way to work, and will be sucked down while I attempt to get the tasks of the week/month/year done

Don't hold your breath for the cure-that's one of those np-hard problems. Colds are rapidly mutating, multi-ethnic viruses (it's not just the 532 or so rhinoviruses-multiple coxsackieviruses, RSV, it's a long and distinguished list). The reason echinacaea works seems to be that it's a non-specific booster of killer T cells (and the immune system in general), which target virus infected cells. But it does work, used early and often.

Hope you feel better soon.

I've no doubt it was because we stayed up all night...I've been hit by it now as well. Sigh.
