Sometimes, I think someone else is living in this body with me. And he's a lousy roommate.

I was talking with an executive in the breakroom, and completely unthinkingly, while doing so, I bought myself a pile of peanut butter candy out of the machine.

I came to my senses and threw it in the garbage before I ate any.

All that advice about "what your body craves is a clue to what you need to eat"? Bunk.

In a crude sense, it may be accurate. Remember, what your body craves is not necessarily what will make you happy. Evolution has tasked you not with being happy, but with following out its successful program for the survival of gene collections. You may simply have wanted fat and protein and gone instinctively to the most reliable source.

I agree -- bunk.

Sometimes we crave what is bad for us, what we are allergic to. It's true.

Have you noticed anything else that causes such problems?
