Trains and Planes
It takes more time to take BART and CalTrain from SFO to Palo Alto than it takes to fly from SEA to SFO. Including clearing security. Fail.

You must have timed things REALLY wrong then, as it's generally less then half an hour for me from SFO to San Carlos, which is only three stops before Palo Alto.

I got in around 930ish.

Find BART station at SFO. Wait 15 minutes. Train to some "transfer station". Wait 20 minutes. Take train to Milepeas. Wait an hour and a half for CalTrain. Get on CalTrain as it crawls the tracks, stopping every 10 minutes.

Fail.

Damn. Like I said, you must have had the *WORST* timing, since generally BART goes to millbrae every ten, typically timed so that you just walk across the station. And every time that I've ridden it, they've waited for the transfer train. It's then a five minute ride to the transfer station, get out, and ten-twenty minutes later, caltrain is there...

I do this trip once a month or so, *not* including taking BART into the city/east bay.

EDIT: It occurs to me that my wording could be taken to mean that I was blaming you. More just blaming random horribleness.

No worries.

I suspect it was mostly the latest of the hour. But that means that the train is not the right approach for an evening arrival.
